WHAT WE DO
Common Threads Closet started in 2013 with a mission to distribute clothing, shoes, and small household items in a setting where those in need can choose the items they want. Today, we are serving over 2800 families from multiple counties. Those from the community shop for the items they need while staying within monthly limits.
They can choose from:
-
Clothing of all sizes and Shoes for Children, Women and Men including accessories, belts, and ties
-
Household items such as curtains, pans, dishes, bedding, and decorative items
-
Small appliances like coffee makers, toasters, and microwaves
-
Books and movies for all ages.
Individuals and families can come to the Common Thread Closet each day it's open. The items chosen are kept in a monthly count of up to 30 clothing items. This includes shoes, accessories and household items. Each month, the count begin all over again.

Each family contributes $5 a year for the entire family to receive up to 30 clothing items per person per month plus shoes, accessories, household items and more. Contributions are not required immediately and are made in small increments throughout the year. There are often special considerations made for those cases of extreme need when someone cannot contribute.

All the items available are gifts provided by community donations, shared donations from our non-profit partners, companies that donated unneeded/unsold items, and proceeds from grants.
